Closed Rhinoplasty Overview: Cost, Recovery, Procedure and More

Recovery

There are less scars on the nose in closed rhinoplasty when compared to open rhinoplasty. This implies that it takes shorter period for patients to recover after the procedure. Most patients are able to go back to their normal routines after 2 -3 days and go back to work 5-7 days after the procedure. A cast is usually placed on the nose after the procedure. When the cast is removed, there are usually no signs of bruises or swelling. There are also zero traces of having surgery completed.

How Does the Procedure Work?

Closed rhinoplasty is also called an endonasal rhinoplasty. The surgeon makes all the cuttings inside the nose. The nose is partially opened and the basis of the nasal structure is not opened. It is very important to get an experienced surgeon because most of the cuttings are done through a narrow opening in each nostri. The surgeon is not able to see everything before consulting a surgeon. The patient should make sure they see before and after work of the surgeon. There is no visible scar, and the closed rhinoplasty is very quick and does not cause a lot of swelling. It is mostly done under general anesthesia.
