Side Effects

Just like every surgery, closed rhinoplasty has its side effects. These side effects include:
- Bleeding of the nose

- Deformities after procedure that require another surgery for correction

- Allergic reaction to anesthesia

- Bursting of little blood vessels on the surface of the skin

- Under or over correction that require a second rhinoplasty procedure
Pros of Closed Rhinoplasty
- The result is permanent
- It takes less time to recover
- The procedure lasts for a short period (1-2 hours)
- There are no visible scars
- The swellings that are occur after procedure are small compared to open rhinoplasty
Cons of Closed Rhinoplasty
- It requires more technical abilities
- The surgeon sees less than open rhinoplasty
- Challenges are faced with extensive nasal tip work
- Difficulty with cartilage grafting work
- The shaping is usually less precise
- Less accurate modifications
- Limited visualization
