Practice Active Recovery
According to study, static stretching after a workout won’t help with muscle soreness. But active recovery might. Active recovery refers to low-intensity exercise designed to help your muscles recover from higher-intensity workout.
Here are some of the way you can incorporate active recovery into your fitness routine:
- During workout: with interval training, it will help to switch between bouts of high-intensity exercise and brief recovery intervals.
- Post workout: It will help to practice slow, easy movement like walking during cool down sequence after a vigorous training session.
- On rest days: Take advantage of your rest days by doing gentle activities like walking, swimming, or yoga.
