Benefit of Strength and Weight Training

Isometric Resistance

This involves straining your muscle against a non-moving object like the wall or floor. For example, engaging in pushups.

Isotonic Strength Training:

This involves contracting your muscle through a range of motion. [1] For example, weight lifting or pullups.

Strength Training Helps in Burning Calories

Basically, exercising helps boost your body’s metabolism. After engaging in exercise, both aerobic activity and strength training, your body continues to burn calories as it returns to its more restful state. The process is termed “excess post-exercise oxygen consumption.”

You burn calories during the workout but even more after the workout. This is because when you do strength or weight training, your body demand more energy. The more energy you exert, the more energy is needed.
