Uncut Melons and Winter Squash

Both melons that haven’t been cut and winter squash do not have to be put in the refrigerator. This is because they both have hard skins like acorn, kabocha, butternut, and delicata, therefore they don’t need to be refrigerated until after they’ve been cut. However, if you prefer your melon cold, you might want to stick it into the fridge beforehand. (You can count on the skin to protect the inside from drying out), just don’t put in for long.
Potatoes (Sweet and Regular)
The best way to keep potatoes, both sweet and ordinary, is at room temperature. They will become harder, more discolored, and have a poor flavor if they are refrigerated, which will also increase the amount of sugar in them.
Don’t forget to keep your potatoes in cold, dark areas and to eat them as soon as possible. Their glycoalkaloid content may increase if they are kept for an extended period of time (particularly in warm environments).
Glycoalkaloids can change the flavor of your potatoes and, in high concentrations, may even be hazardous.
