COBRA and Medicare Coordination

Medicare Costs

Medicare can be placed into parts. Medicare Part A pays for hospital services, and in most cases, you don’t have to pay a premium for it. However, you must be eligible for Railroad Retirement Board and Social Security benefits to avoid paying for Part A premiums.  For Medicare Part B, you can pay for the standard premium plan.

Conclusion

One of the most important features of COBRA is that it allows you to remain on your employer’s medical plan even after you have left your job. However, you will have to pay all the premium amount, including the percentage your employer covered. You can combine COBRA and Medicare together to pay for several health services.
