American Shorthair
The American shorthair is one of the most popular cat breeds in North America. These cats are very affectionate and show a lot of devotion to their owners. Unlike many cat breeds, these strong cats are super tolerant of other pets they may share the house with.
These cats are round-faced, adaptable, and intelligent. They have thick legs and strong jaws. Although they closely resemble common domestic mix-breed cats, American shorthairs are pure breed cats. Their kittens are also distinctly different from their mix-breed counterparts.
American shorthairs live as long as 20 years. They grow up to 10 inches in height and weigh anything between 6 and 15 pounds. [6]
