Keep the dog hydrated
If it is liquid diarrhea that is a case where the dog has uncontrollable squirts. You should provide as much hydration as possible to keep it hydrated. The dog is excreting a lot of liquid which means it is losing electrolytes in the system, and you can also give it unflavored Pedialyte [3] to replace loss electrolyte. If the case does not resolve after some days, then you should see your vet. You should also see your vet if the dog is vomiting.
Stop feeding the dog its regular food
Taking a break from the dog’s regular food will give its gastrointestinal tract some time to rest and recover. It may not just be its regular food. Starving the dog for 24 hours if it’s an adult dog and 12 hours for puppies would also help treat diarrhea. However, if the dog is diabetics or a toy breed, you should not nurture it yourself and immediately consult your vet.
