Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a common symptom of pancreatitis in dogs. This medical condition (dog pancreatitis) is associated with certain digestive abnormalities and it varies in duration, intensity, and rate from dog to dog. Prevention of diarrhea is almost impossible, but it can be managed to prevent complications. A dysfunctional pancreas can lead to watery stools. The following factors are also responsible for triggering diarrhea: alterations in diet, allergies, swallowing of an indigestible substance (toys or clothing materials) food intolerance, consumption of excess garbage or rotten food (garbage toxicosis) and parasitic infections [3] (Coccidia, Giardia, hookworms, and roundworms). The color of the stool is also a very important factor to observe because it says a lot about the condition of the pancreas. Persistent diarrhea should be reported to the vet immediately.
