Loss of appetite

Loss of appetite in dogs does not necessarily indicate serious disease. Inflammation in the pancreas causes loss of appetite. This also causes weight loss and the dog becomes susceptible to other medical conditions. Loss of appetite is also associated with other medical conditions in dogs such as urinary tract infection, kidney disease, cancer, and canine problems. Loss of appetite could also be associated the hormonal changes (insulin [6] and glucagon, the hormone produced by the pancreas), overweight. However, in some cases, the dog just does not eat a lot.
Abdominal pain
The pancreas is an organ located in the abdominal part of a dog, so inflammation of it will cause abdominal pain. Pains in the abdomen can be related to so many medical conditions. However, it is the main symptom of dog pancreatitis. Abdominal pains are usually difficult to observe because dogs cannot tell you they feel pain. Therefore, it is important to have a regular schedule with a vet so it can be diagnosed early.
