What Are the Causes of Parvo in Dogs?

Parvo is a highly contagious disease that is transferred effectively and quickly. Canine Parvovirus is not airborne, but it can be seen on many surfaces. It is spread by coming in contact with an infected surface. It is mostly present in microscopic quantities, so you don’t have to see the feces for you to contact the virus. The virus can be found on objects, in kennels, on peoples’ hands, on the ground, or on the clothes of those who have been infected. Dogs may also carry the virus on their fur or paws if they have come in contact with an infected material.
Parvovirus can stay in a dog’s environment for many weeks, months, and in some cases years. It can also develop resistance to many disinfectants. However, it is important to note that it is susceptible to diluted bleach and some specialized cleaners commonly used in veterinary hospitals.
