Hormone Therapy
If the cause of your hair loss is as a result of hormone imbalance, then a hormone therapy would be highly recommended to correct them. You may be given antiandrogen medications. Androgens are hormones that can speed up your hair loss in women, it is more common with women that have polycystic ovary syndrome.
Antiandrogen is effective in stopping the production of androgens and prevent hair loss. There may be some side effects associated with the medication, so it is important that you discuss with your doctor.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient traditional method that involves the use of needles. Although it has not yet been proven as an effective treatment for female pattern baldness, it has shown to be effective in a case of alopecia areata. This treatment would require more clinical study, however, a 2011 study showed that it gives better result compared to medication.
