6 Benefits of Black Seed Oil

It Improves Cardiovascular Health

People with high blood pressure and those with high levels of cholesterol, particularly low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol, are at a higher risk of heart disease than the average person. Studies with black seed oil have found that it helps regulate both blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

In a study of 70 healthy adults [16], black seed oil showed promise by significantly reducing their blood pressure better than a placebo. This was achieved using half a teaspoon of the oil twice every day for eight weeks.

In studies on the effect of this oil on cholesterol, research has shown that two to three grams of black seed oil capsules daily may be effective in lowering the levels of LDL in both obese women [17] and adults with type 2 diabetes [18]. The two studies lasted 8-12 weeks. Another study [19] found that taking two teaspoons of black seed oil after breakfast for six weeks significantly reduced the levels of LDL in people with high cholesterol levels.
