Diverticulosis Meal Plans – Foods to Eat and Avoid

Bran

Bran is another excellent food option for persons suffering from diverticulosis. It is the hard outer layer of oat, rice, and rye. It is highly nutritious and rich in fiber which encourages good digestion. Bran has up to two times the amount of soluble fiber found in whole oats, which attracts water and turns into a gel for easy digestion. It is also packed with multivitamins and minerals, which improves the quality of life. Note that following a diverticulosis diet doesn’t mean you need to starve. Bran is delicious and keeps you feeling full longer.
