Heat Cramps: Symptoms, Causes, Treatment and More

Strenuous Activities and Outdoor Jobs

Any kind of strenuous activity can result in fluid loss through sweating. Physical activities and profuse sweating can cause loss of electrolytes, dehydration, and heat cramps. You may experience these conditions in a cold temperature, but they are more likely to happen when it’s hot.

If you wear a layered dress when performing any physical activity outside in the cold, it prevents the evaporation of sweat and cools the skin. As a result, you may experience overheating, irrespective of the temperature outdoors. You may find it difficult to get water or any fluid if you work outside. This makes rehydration hard.
