How to Identify Insect (Bug) Bites?

Flea Bites

While fleas typically prefer to feast on pets and rodents, they sometimes feed on humans as well. Flea bites are small, red rashes or bumps that are typically in groups of three or four. Flea bites are usually itchy or sore and they turn white when you press them. They also spread and grow larger with time. Fleas also bite in areas of your body that are warm, such as armpits, between the knees, or your ankles. Try not to scratch flea bites as this can cause them to worsen, leading to a skin infection [6].

Mosquito Bites

You rarely need to worry about mosquito bites except you are traveling to endemic countries. Mosquito bites are marked by a small puffy bump with a small dot in the middle of each bump. The bump from the mosquito bite usually becomes itchy, strong, and red after a while. Mosquitoes can bite you many times and leave you with multiple bites at the same time.

The initial bite from a mosquito isn’t painful and most sensitive people might only feel a stinging sensation, which is usually accompanied by itchiness. Be careful when scratching mosquito bites so you do not injure yourself.
