Long naps

A Nap becomes a deep sleep if it lasts longer than 25 minutes. Also, deep sleep is difficult to wake up from. It can make you feel unstable, or unaware of where you are, and what the time says. The groggy or moody feeling that accompanies feel sleep is caused by sleep inertia [3], which is a state of transition between wakefulness and sleep. Studies show that sleep inertia can lead to:
- Unstable performance
- Reduced vigilance
- Feeling more tired and less refreshed.
It would help to know that sleep inertia can occur for hours after a long nap. Therefore, you must always have light sleep and set an alarm to help you wake up at the right time. In 2014, the relationship between nighttime sleep and napping in college students was studied. The study revealed that students who experienced long, regular and late naps were more prone to poor sleep quality at night and lack of adequate sleep. If you feel sleep-deprived after a nap, it means you slept for too long.
