Neem: Benefits, Side Effects, Uses, and More

Neem: what is it?

Neem is sometimes referred to as “the village pharmacy.” It is a unique medicinal plant, considering that all of its parts can be used, including its leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, roots, and bark.

Some of the historical uses of this tree are revealed in writings that date back hundreds of years. Its leaves were used to treat ulcers, its blooms to treat bile duct issues, and its bark to treat brain diseases.

Numerous portions of the plant have yielded over 140 different active chemicals. Neem’s antioxidant, antibacterial, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and wound-healing benefits are due to these active components.

Even though it’s not totally known how neem works, study into this plant is still ongoing.
