Side Effects of Empliciti

Empliciti can result to some side effects, either mild or serious. There are certain key side effects that one would most likely experience when they tale Empliciti. Your side effects vary depending on the combination you are taking, whether it is Empliciti and dexamethasone with either lenalidomide (Revlmid) or pomalidomide (Pomalyst).

The more common side effects that happen when you take Empliciti together with lenalidomide and dexamethasone include: Headache, constipation, cough, cataract, vomiting, infections like sinus and pneumonia, unusual pain in your mouth and throat, peripheral nerve disease [3], severe pain in the arms and legs, weight loss as a result of decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue and changes in your blood test.

When Empliciti is taken with pomalidomide and dexamethasone, the side effects one may experience are quite different. Some of the side effects in this case include: bone pain, constipation, muscle spasm, diarrhea [4], increased level of blood sugar, sinus infection, pneumonia, arms and legs swelling, changes in certain level of blood test and difficulty breathing.

Most of these more common side effects tend to go away after a few days or weeks. If they appear persistent and gets more severe, you should immediately visit your doctor.

Empliciti in rare cases can lead to more complications. It is best that you immediately call your doctor if you are experiencing any serious side effects. If the symptoms feel life threatening you should immediately call 911.

Some of these serious side effects include other type of cancer, for example, skin cancer and liver problem. These complications have their own symptoms. One may also have severe allergic reaction, infusion reaction, or infections.
