OCREVUS – Side effects, Uses, Dosage and More

Functions of Ocrevus

This medication works basically for the treatment of certain health conditions in adults, such conditions include:

  • Relapsing-remitting MS: this type of multiple sclerosis is characterized by alternating phases of relapse and remission. A relapse occurs and becomes worse for some days or weeks and they tend to have the same type of signs. In the remission phase, the individual may not show any symptoms. This condition sometimes leads to disabilities in certain parts of the body.
  • Clinically isolated syndrome (CIS): this is a condition that lasts for at least 24 hours, it has neurological symptoms and the signs are not associated with fever or infections. This results from the loss of myelin from the central nervous system. It leads to difficulties in walking, sexual performance, balance, and coordination.
  • Primary progressive MS: this results without notable times of relapse and remission. It causes the nerve function and the brain to break down. This is a progressive disorder and begins to worsen from the age of 50. Signs of this condition include numbness, paralysis, difficulty in bladder and bowel control, and fatigue.
  • Active secondary progressive MS: initially this condition comes in the form of relapsing-remitting MS, but after a while, the symptoms begin to get worse.
