Uses of Prednisone

Prednisone is used to treat inflammatory reactions in the body. It is used to treat certain conditions such as arthritis, breathing problems, cancer, immune system disorders, eye problems, and skin diseases.

It reduces your immune system’s response to various diseases to decrease certain symptoms such as swelling, inflammation, and other allergic reactions.

It is used with antibiotics to treat a particular type of pneumonia which can be found in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is also used to treat diseases such as; sarcoidosis [2], thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), symptoms of lymphoma or leukemia, colitis, and multiple sclerosis exacerbations.
