Side Effects

Seek medical help if you notice any allergic reactions to this drug (e.g. difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat).

Some people may experience some side effects although a majority of people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Some of these side effects include;

  • Blurred vision, pain in the eye, seeing halos around light
  • Swelling
  • Severe depression
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Bloody or tarry stools [3]
  • Coughing up blood
  • Pancreatitis [4]
  • Decreased level of potassium
  • Elevated blood pressure

Other common side effects include;

  • Increased appetite
  • Acne
  • Persistent sore throat
  • Nausea
  • Bloating
  • Poor wound healing
  • Insomnia
  • Mood swings
  • Stomach pain
  • Increased sweating
  • Heartburn
