Serious Side Effects

Although the side effects of Vraylar are not common, they can occur in different forms. You should speak with your doctor immediately if you notice any signs of a serious side effect. Contact your local emergency number or 911 if you experience a medical emergency.
The most common serious side effects of Vraylar include:
- Low white blood cell count
- Allergic reaction
- Risk of falling due to movement problems or dizziness
- Seizures
- Tardive dyskinesia (irregular and uncontrollable movements of your arms, legs, neck, or tongue)
- Trouble swallowing
- Orthostatic hypotension (a drop in blood pressure upon standing or sitting up)
- Increased risk of heatstroke or overheating due to problems regulating your body temperature
- High blood sugar level [1], which may lead to diabetes
- Elevated cholesterol [2] or triglyceride level
- Risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in young adults and children
- Neuroleptic malignant syndrome [3] (a severe reaction that rarely occurs with antipsychotic medications)
- Increased risk of death in older adults with psychosis related to dementia [4]
