Symptoms of Early Amyloidosis

Swelling of the Tongue

An unexplainable swelling of the tongue can be an indicator of the onset of amyloidosis.

Amyloidosis can cause the tongue to swell. It can also cause muscles in other areas of the body to become bigger than normal.

If you notice your tongue or shoulders becoming enlarged, you should consider seeing a doctor.

Irregular Heartbeat

Amyloids can build up in your heart and cause it to malfunction. This can alter the heart’s electrical system and cause a person to experience arrhythmia. Arrhythmia [8] is an abnormal rate of muscle contraction in the heart which disrupts regular heartbeat.
