8 Natural Pain Solutions for Arthritis

Fish Oil

Fish oil is a supplement most widely taken for Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it definitely contains omega-3 fatty acids that are not present in the Western diet in sufficient amounts. Their actions are anti-inflammatory. Fish oil may have a positive impact on Arthritis symptoms and development, particularly in terms of morning stiffness, general tenderness, and reduced dependency on the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The issue is that the actual effect of fish oil is not easily distinguishable from that of placebo.

In some patients, elevated concentrations of fish oil may have a potential to decrease clotting, notably if they are on other drugs that cause blood thinning or if they are in need of surgery. Secondly, like most herbal supplements, fish oil is not regulated, so efficiency is entirely dependent on production standards. Contamination with mercury is an additional risk, particular in small children and pregnant mothers.
