Sensitivity to Light & Difficulty Doing Daily Activities

A symptom common to people with cataracts is sensitivity to light. According to the Mayo Clinic [6], the glare from bright lights can cause painful sensations in the eye, especially for people that have posterior subcapsular cataracts. Starting from behind the lens, these types of cataracts obscure the direction of light and also make reading quite difficult, especially under bright light.
As vision is compromised, a person who has a cataract will have difficulties in performing simple daily tasks [7], such as reading a book and accessing an email. The decrease in visual acuity is one of the typical symptoms in patients that are developing cataracts, and this basically affects that individual’s ability to see things clearly and perform everyday tasks.
