Causes of Cellulitis
Cellulitis can occur as a result of injuries, trauma or surgery in the chest and abdomen areas. Obese people can also have cellulitis in the abdominal skin. The forms of cellulitis are indicated by where they are found in the body.
Experts do not know how the bacteria enters the body. In some cases, the bacterium enters the body through openings in the skin, such as injuries or surgical wound. In general, you cannot catch cellulitis from someone. In most cases, cellulitis is causes by infection with either strep (streptococcus) or staph (staphylococcus) bacteria.
