Crohn’s Disease: How Do I Get To Remission?

Surgery

Over 50 percent of the people with Crohn’s disease need surgery to go into remission. Doctors remove areas of the intestine that is affected and join the unaffected parts.

In some cases, foods will be ingested in liquid state via a feeding tube or get injected into the veins to assist with the healing of the bowels. Doctors recommend consumption of foods with low fiber so stools can be removed easily, avoiding bowel obstruction.

Signs of improvements begin to show after a month, in some people, it could take over 4 months.
