Contact Lens Wear

Studies show that people who wear contact lenses for a long period or sleep with their contact lenses are prone to irritation and redness of the eyes. Contact lenses make you more prone to tears in your eyes. It would help to follow your doctor’s recommendation on how to use the lenses to avoid exacerbation of symptoms. Also, certain eye infections [4] occur due to misuse of contact lenses.
You can gently remove your contact lens if it is responsible for the irritation and redness in your eye. You can also wash your eyes with artificial tears or saline. Avoid placing a new contact lens in your eye immediately after removing one. Taking a break from your lenses may help reduce redness.
