Causes of Eye Twitch

There are a variety of factors that can cause your eyelid to twitch apart from the medical conditions mentioned. Here are some possible causes:
- Lack of sleep
- Eye strain
- Bright light or sun
- Light sensitivity
- Side effects of some medicines
- Fatigue
- Alcohol
- Smoking or using tobacco products
- Stress
- Caffeine
Eye twitches are most commonly traced to stress and fatigue. It will help to get enough exercise at least seven to eight hours of sleep and stay hydrated. Once you get enough rest, most cases of eyelid spasms pass, though if you’re super stressed this might take up to a few weeks.
