Procedures for microneedling under the eyes

When you get to the office for a microneedling procedure, you will be asked several questions about your health history and about any drugs that you are using. This is done to ensure that you are not at risk for any serious side effects from the procedure.
A common anesthesia cream such as lidocaine will be used on your face and allowed to have effects. This may take 10 minutes or more. The treatment area gets numb and your skin is stretched in different directions while using the microneedling device. You may experience some stinging or discomfort as the microneedles penetrate the upper layer of your skin. You should not feel excruciating pain.
Research done in 2016 showed that saline pads or ice packs may be used on the eyes to reduce swelling once the treatment is done. In total, the real microneedling is done in less than 30 minutes if you are just getting the treatment under your eyes.
