Children with farsightedness tend to develop crossed eyes (strabismus) before the condition is diagnosed and if the condition is not treated early. Studies done by the College of Optometrists in Visual Development show that people who have ADD/ADHD develop farsightedness. Your optometrist may recommend normal eye exams to diagnose severe hyperopia. The exam is not effective in detecting mild farsightedness.
