What is astigmatism?

Astigmatism is a popular eye disorder that occurs when the shape of your eye is altered. The disorder is characterized by an abnormal curve in your cornea or lens.
The abnormal curve affects how the light refracts into the retina. The light passes through the ocular nerve [6] to send information to the brain. The information sent to the nation is interpreted as blurs. Unlike myopia and hyperopia, the blurs experienced by people with astigmatism are not related to distance. In some cases, it is caused by surgeries or wounds in the eye.
