Treatment for flat feet
Foot support

This is usually the first step to treat the condition.
Your healthcare provider may recommend that you wear orthotics, which are inserts that go inside your shoes to support your feet.
For children, they may prescribe special shoes or heel cups until their feet are fully formed.
Lifestyle changes
You may need to make some lifestyle changes to help reduce the pain from flat feet.
For example, your healthcare provider may recommend a diet and exercise program to manage your weight to reduce the pressure on your feet.
You may also be advised to not stand or walk for prolonged periods.
Medication
You may be prescribed medication, depending on the cause of your flat feet. Medication to help reduce the pain, inflammation or any other symptoms. No steroidal anti-inflammatory medications [7] can relieve swelling and pain.
