Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome: Symptoms, Causes & Treatment

Preventing Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

There is no particular way to prevent tarsal tunnel syndrome. However, there are ways to reduce your chances of getting TYS. They include:

  • Ensuring you prevent overuse injuries, take a break between workouts.
  • Regularly stretch your ankles and feet.
  • Warm up before exercising.
  • Put on supportive, well-fitting footwear.

Sometimes treating the root cause of TTS causes the symptoms to go away. For instance, after therapy, symptoms of a lipoma [5] or bone spur may go away.

Frequently, TTS symptoms are long-term managed. If you suffer from a chronic illness like arthritis, your TTS is less likely to completely go away.
