Preeclampsia
During the second or third trimester of pregnancy, as well as up to six weeks after giving birth, preeclampsia, a potentially fatal illness, can develop. Both protein in the urine and dangerously elevated blood pressure are symptoms of the illness. Headaches, visual problems, weight gain, and edema are just a few of the symptoms it might produce. The fetus may potentially be impacted by preeclampsia during pregnancy.
Medical attention is urgently needed. Medication to stop seizures and reduce blood pressure are both possible treatment options. Although giving birth to the baby is the most successful treatment, some patients may have worsening symptoms before they improve.
