Symptoms and Causes of Knee Pain

Limited range of motion

If you have knee pain, you may experience difficulty extending or bending your affected knee to its full capacity. This may be because of the pain you’ll experience if you go beyond a certain limit. Other times, it may be due to the stiffness of the joints.

Poor balance

Knee pain can be severe enough to make standing with the affected leg incredibly difficult. Your gait may become wobbly and you may experience difficulty finding balance when you stand. You may feel like your knee is giving way [4] when you place your body weight on it. Sometimes, this inability to find balance is a direct result of the intensity of the knee pain. Other times, it is because of injury to the muscles and tendons around the knee.
