Aching in the Leg

When the legs are aching, it is a prominent symptom of leg pain. This feeling is very uncomfortable but is different from the sharp pain. Sometimes, individuals may know that their legs ache but may not point out the pain’s specific area. Aching legs feel worse when the individual moves around too often.

Aching can be linked to varicose veins, especially when an individual notices it after standing for an extended period. Moreover, people who smoke or have diabetes may have poor circulation in the legs, which results in severe aching of the legs.

 

Leg Cramps

A leg cramp is a form of sudden pain in the leg muscles [2] due to leg muscles’ shortening. In many cases, leg cramps occur in calf muscles, and the feet or thighs, in some cases. There are so many causes of leg cramps. Common ones include exercise, pregnancy, and the use of some medications. In some cases, a leg cramp may occur for a few seconds, and sometimes, it extends as high as ten minutes.

Recreational running or weight training the legs are other possible causes of leg cramps. Some experts claim that leg cramps are primarily due to muscle fatigue. Please note that this condition’s risk becomes much higher in hot weather or when individuals don’t stay hydrated.
