Smoking and Nutritional Deficiency

Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches the brain and this can affect the amount of oxygen that reaches the brain. Studies have shown that people who indulge in smoking [5] find it harder to recognize faces and remember names as compared to nonsmokers. Smoking plants like marijuana and cannabis can change chemicals in the brain and this leads to memory loss for persons who smoke these plants.
For the brain to function properly, it is important that a person should consume food with good nutrients such as fiber, fat and high-quality proteins. When the body is deficient in vitamin B1 and B12, the memory would be affected.
