What Causes Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)?

Reaction to eye drops is a common reason that causes conjunctivitis in children and older adults. Sometimes, conjunctivitis is due to the wrong application of eye drops. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water before using eye drops, it is crucial and useful to avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. Using hand sanitizer is also working if you don’t have soap and water. Besides, individuals that use contact lenses should remove them before applying the eye drops.

More importantly, you need to wash hands after you touch the people with pink eye or the things they used, something like helping them put eye drops in their eyes or makeup bed. Not sharing personal items can also help prevent the contagiousness of pink eye.
