Parasites

Eye parasites are significant causes of conjunctivitis. Parasites are living organisms that dwell in other organisms. The organisms that they dwell in are called the host. The interaction between the host and the parasite is called a parasitic relationship since the parasite enjoys nutrients at the host’s expense.
The common types of eye parasites that affect the eye are acanthamoebiasis, toxoplasmosis, river blindness, gnathostomiasis, and loiasis. The presence of eye parasites causes conjunctivitis and many other symptoms like blurred vision, eye inflammation, eye pain, retinal scarring, excessive tear production, light sensitivity, itching around the eye, and more.
