Use a decongestant
Decongestants are effective at relieving sinus congestion and pain. You may buy them as nasal sprays or tablets at your local pharmacy. Some decongestants require a prescription. There are several types of decongestants you can try. Oxymetazoline and phenylephrine are popular nasal sprays [5]. You may also get pseudoephedrine pills at your local pharmacy.
If using nasal sprays, never use them for more than three days at a time. This can worsen the congestion and cause it to recur. Sometimes it is best to try other methods of clearing sinus congestion before settling for decongestants.
