Gastroparesis Food Tips and Stages

Foods High in Fiber

Fiber is mainly needed by the body. However, this fiber should be considered especially for people with gastroparesis who have digestive disorders.

Fibers [10] delay gastric emptying, bind substances, and collect in a formation called a bezoar, which can cause a blockage in the stomach in people with gastroparesis.

Therefore, you should avoid foods high in fiber and solid, such as:

    • Dried beans or beans (roasted beans, peas, lentils, black beans, beans, soybeans, garbanzo beans, navy beans)
    • Whole grain porridge
    • Fruits (blackberries, strawberries, oranges, strawberries, kiwi, apples)
    • Dried fruits (apricots, dates, figs, prunes, raisins)
    • Vegetables (broccoli)
    • Popcorn
