During Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy will be carried out in your doctor’s clinic. To help them locate the proper vein to treat, they could utilize an ultrasound.
Sclerotherapy sessions last between 30 and 45 minutes. Depending on where the vein is being treated, you will either lie on your back or your stomach.

Your doctor may administer a test injection and wait a little before beginning to make sure you don’t react to it.
They’ll follow these steps:
- Clean the area you are to have treatment.

- Inject a liquid or foam solution directly into your blood vessel, using very fine needles.
The needle will squeeze your skin, and you can experience a slight burning sensation. The injection in your veins may cause you to experience some minor discomfort. You may experience cramping for a minute or two during the injection in larger veins.
The number of veins your doctor can treat in a single session will depend on the size and placement of your veins as well as the state of your overall health.
