Redness of the Vagina
When the vagina appears red, it’s majorly due to other symptoms like itching and irritation around the vaginal region. The redness of the vaginal typically occurs on the vulva or the labia. Various conditions could lead to the redness of the vagina, which include folliculitis.
Folliculitis is not directly related to yeast infections because it’s a condition that comes from shaving, waxing, and other hair removal forms that could cause significant redness of the vagina. Women with this condition typically experience other symptoms like swelling, pus, and soreness.
Other possible causes of redness of the vagina apart from a yeast infection include contact dermatitis, hormone changes, bacterial vaginosis, sexually transmitted diseases, psoriasis, and lichen planus.
