Football hold

Football hold position is also known as the clutch or underarm hold. It involves allowing your baby to face your breast and placing them close to you while your elbow remains bent. Ensure your baby’s body rests on your forearm [3]. Ensure you support your baby’s head with your hand. You can also support your breast with your free hand.
With the football hold position, the breast is properly drained in the right direction. Also, most babies are able to latch better in this position because they are more relaxed. You need a pillow to execute this position.
Experts advise mothers to use a pillow for every situation to provide cushion and support for the baby.
