Breast Implants: Types, Surgery, Recovery & More

Recovery from a Breast Implant Surgery

The most painful period following breast implant surgery is frequently the first several days.

  • Your breasts could be bruised and swollen.
  • The muscles in your chest could be painful.
  • Your cuts can bleed a little bit.

You should have less pain and discomfort after five to seven days. Some people use either over-the-counter acetaminophen [5] or a prescription painkiller to treat their discomfort. As usual, be sure to tell your provider about all of your allergies and medical history. You should be able to resume light everyday tasks, such as desk work, after one to two weeks. However, you should refrain from engaging in physical activity such as running, lifting objects that are heavy, or raising your arms above your head.
