Half Pigeon Pose and Child’s Pose

Many of us experience tight hips as a result of driving or spending hours at a desk. Half Pigeon pose [4] is a great, deeper hip stretch, but it can be uncomfortable, so always remember to breathe deeply and never push yourself past your capacity.
Yoga should be practiced to reduce stress, not to increase it! Another excellent chance for a yoga block is in this position. When performing Half Pigeon pose using a block, enter the position first and then slip the block beneath the hip of the bent leg.
Remind yourself to let go, submit, and relax into the pose.
The child’s pose is an effective practice to help relieve stress. It is a resting pose that can be sequenced between challenging asanas [5]. It is simple to do yet an effective way to calm the mind and body whether you are flowing on your mat or in the middle of a stressful day. To perform a child’s pose, take a kneeling position then sit on your legs and stretch your arms forward with your head facing to the floor.
