Considerations for rack pull

The benefits of rack pull will not be seen if the technique is not right. The technique is just as important as the consistency. The following are important tips to use while performing the movement:

  • Maintain great posture with a neutral spine all through the exercise and do not hyperextend your back at lockout phase.
  • Do not jerk the weight off the rack
  • Hold the barbell deep in the palm of your hands opposing your fingers
  • Be careful so you do not hit your knees when setting the bar back on the rack
  • Gradually increase the weight on the bar over time and avoid making big jumps
