10 Health Benefits of Tart Cherry Juice

May Promote Brain Health

Significant degenerative disorders like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s are believed to be caused by oxidative stress. Note that tart cherries and their juices contain high amounts of antioxidants and other helpful plant compounds that may have protective effects on the brain cells.

According to research, eating 480ml of tart cherry juice improved the antioxidant defenses in healthy older men and women every day. Another study [3] showed that older adults with mild-to-moderate dementia ate either 200ml of tart cherry juice or a placebo for three months.

Older adults in the cherry juice group face improvements in verbal fluency and short-term and long-term memory, while those in the placebo group didn’t observe any significant improvements.
